Introduction

This game project explores the delicate balance between individualism and collectivism through an interactive narrative.

The central premise revolves around a green ball, initially indistinguishable from its peers. As the game progresses, the ball is tasked with evading four antagonists to survive. A unique aspect of this gameplay is the evolving strength of the green ball, which increases as it aids other balls. This altruistic behavior, however, comes with a warning: the ball enlarges, making it more challenging to elude enemies.Players are given the agency to navigate this predicament, constantly weighing the choice between self-preservation and the welfare of others. This decision-making process is a critical component of the game, provoking deeper contemplation about the dynamics of self versus community.

The concept draws inspiration from the p5.js project 'Life and Death,' which delves into existential themes and the intricate web of human relationships. The end of 'Life and Death,' leaves a sentence on the screen "You live in the world 380s," which is akin to a cinematic experience. It encourages players to reflect introspectively on the essence and fleeting nature of life.

In a similar vein, this project incorporates subtitles beneath the gameplay screen to enhance the cinematic feel. These captions are designed to deepen the player's engagement with the narrative and to foster a contemplative atmosphere, inviting players to ponder the philosophical underpinnings of their in-game choices and, by extension, their real-life decisions.
